Application of signal and image processing in industrial automation.
The applications using image processing systems. Automatic, self-created production based on extensive data gathered and visually identified information. more efficient production through which is networking of vision systems in operational processes.
Image Processing is a method that various operation are performed on image, in order to get an enhanced image or to extract some important information like pixel Colour etc . It is a type of signal processing in which input is an image and output may be image or character features associated with that image. Nowadays, image processing is among rapidly growing technologies.
2 types of processing are-
1. Analogue image process
2. Digital image process.
Analog processing is applied on analog and it processes only 2-dimensional signal. The images are manipulated by electrical signals. In analog image processing, analog signals can be periodic or non-periodic.
Examples of analog images are TV images, photograph, painting, and medical image etc.
Digital image processing is applied to digital images (a matrix of small pixels and elements). For manipulating the images, there is a number of software and algorithms that are applied to perform changes. Digital image processing is one of the fastest growing industry which affects everyone’s life.
Examples of digital images are color processing, image recognition, video processing, etc.
Conversion of the analog signal to digital signal and digitized image processing.
Digital signal processing is all about processing analog signal in real world in this era signals which people interact, for example, speech .DSP system converts digital signal to analog signal or vice-versa by the use of converters.
The digital image processing is a special type of processor which is used in every electronic device whether it be CD, mobile phones, battlefields, satellites, medical, and voice detection machines etc.

Need of Image Processing :-
Image processing is often viewed as arbitrarily manipulating an image to achieve an aesthetic standard or to support a preferred reality in day today life .However, image processing is more accurately defined as a means of translation..
The human visual system does not perceive the world in the same manner as digital detectors, with display devices imposing additional noise and bandwidth restrictions .Salient differences between the human and digital detectors will be shown, along with some basic processing steps for achieving translation.
Some of the major fields in which digital image processing is widely used are mentioned below
Image sharpening and restoration
•Medical area
•Remote sensing
- Transmission and encoding
- Robotic Vision
•Color processing
- Pattern recognition
- Video processing
- Microscopic Imaging
Image sharpening and restore it !
Image sharpening and restoration refers here to process images that have been captured from the modern camera to make them a better image or to manipulate those images in way to achieve desired result.
It refers to do what Photoshop usually .
This includes Zoom, blur , sharp, gray scale to color conversion, detection edges , Image retrieval and Image recognition.

Color processing:
Color processing includes processing of colored image and different color spaces that are used. eg Red Green Blue color model ,
YCbCr , HSV. It also involve studying transmission , storage, and encoding of these color images.

Pattern recognitions:
Pattern recognition involves study from image processing and from various other fields related to it that includes machine learning . In pattern recognition , image processing is used for identify the object in an images and then machine . L is used to train the system for the change in patter of specific device .
